Chapeltown Karate Club was formed in June 2001 by Sensei Gary Baker (4th Dan) who is a qualified Coach and
is registered with the English Karate Federation

Chapeltown Karate Club is one of 23 clubs within the Shindo-Kai Karate Association in South Yorkshire which is run by joint Chief Instructors John & Ged Tumman (6th & 7th Dan Coaches).

The style of Karate practiced at the club is Wado-Ryu. Also practiced is practical & realistic Self Defence against Armed & Unarmed assailants. Most importantly we teach kids Life Skills such as Respect & Confidence.

Charity Work

Sensei Gary handed over a cheque for £500 to local charity “Amy’s Retreat” which was setup to help families with cancer go to such as “Centre Parks” for Holidays.

Receiving the cheque is Joanne & Stephen Hall who formed the charity in 2000.

The money was raised by the Students & Instructors of C.K.C running around Clifton Park July 2003, doing press-ups, sit-ups, kicks & punches at set points.
